Who we are

Arth (“Arth”, “we”, “us”) is a land management platform operated by Arth Project, Bengaluru, Karnataka. The platform lets you view, verify and manage everything about your land — records, documents, surveys, approvals and government liaisoning — across Karnataka.

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use arthproject.com and the Arth portal, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. It is written to comply with Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to provide the service:

• Contact details — name, email address and phone number when you create an account, submit the contact form, or request a service.
• Property information — survey numbers, RTC extracts, khata details, sale deeds, encumbrance certificates and other documents you upload or ask us to obtain on your behalf.
• Identity details — where a government process requires it (for example a khata transfer), documents such as Aadhaar or PAN that you explicitly provide for that request.
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, device and browser type, collected through cookies and analytics as described below.
• Communication records — emails, WhatsApp messages and call notes related to your service requests.

How we use your information

• To create and maintain your land records and document locker on the platform.
• To carry out the services you request — record verification, surveys, document procurement, approvals and liaisoning with government departments.
• To keep you informed about the status of your requests, renewals and compliance deadlines.
• To respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form, phone, email or WhatsApp.
• To improve the platform — aggregated, anonymised usage patterns tell us what works and what does not.
• To meet legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your property documents for anything other than the services you ask for.

When we share data

Your data is shared only where the service requires it:

• Government departments and portals — when you ask us to obtain or update a record (for example through Kaveri or Bhoomi), we submit the details that process requires.
• Service providers — cloud hosting, payment processors, analytics and communication tools that operate under contractual confidentiality obligations.
• Professionals engaged for your request — licensed surveyors or legal counsel working on your matter, limited to that matter.
• Legal requirements — where disclosure is required by law, court order or a competent authority.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are read, which sections are skipped, and where visitors come from. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them through the consent banner (Google Consent Mode v2); until then, measurement runs without cookies or identifiers.

You can change your choice at any time by clearing cookies for arthproject.com, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely with Google’s browser opt-out add-on.

How we protect your data

• All traffic to and from the platform is encrypted with TLS, and documents are encrypted at rest.
• Access to your documents is limited to you and the team members working on your specific request.
• We maintain access controls, audit logs and regular backups.

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

How long we keep it

• Account and property data — for as long as your account is active. Land records are long-lived by nature, so we keep your locker intact until you delete it or ask us to.
• Service request records — retained for the period required by tax and audit law.
• Analytics data — retained in aggregate; identifiable analytics data expires per Google Analytics retention settings.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Ask us to delete your account and personal data, subject to records we must keep by law.
• Withdraw consent for processing that is based on consent.
• Nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf.

To exercise any of these, email info@arthproject.com from your registered email address. We respond within the timelines prescribed by law.

Grievance officer

If you have a concern about how your data is handled, contact our grievance officer at info@arthproject.com or by post at Arth Project, Manpho Stambh, 1st Cross, Anand Nagar, Opp Siroya Jain Temple, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560032. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform and the law evolve. Material changes are announced on this page with a new “last updated” date, and where the change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will notify you directly.
